Vision vs. Medical, what’s the difference?
Vision insurance is your vision benefit designed to pay toward "routine" examinations and or materials and may or may not cover contact lens fitting and materials. Not everyone with medical insurance has a separate vision plan.
Medical insurance covers eye care visits that are medical in nature. For example, an emergency of a red eye or one focused on a specific eye health concern or condition.
It is important you are aware of your insurance benefits and how they apply to your visit. We do our best to help verify what coverage you have, but ultimately, it is your responsibility to know what your own medical or vision plan covers.
